Vera Vécsy



She was born in 1949 in Kecskemét. She is from a family of pedagogists.
She pursued her studies in Kecskemét. She graduated from the Technical College in 1970. As a career starter she worked at Alföldi Shoe Factory, then in the college library, from where in 1972 she transferred to the animation studio of Kecskemét. She has been the production manager of close to 500 films. The most well-known series are Hungarian Folk Tales, Tales of King Matthias and Legends from the Hungarian History.
Since 1993 she has been the member of the Organising Committee of the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival.
Her distinctions: Award for Dedicated Service in Cultural Activities (2000), Jolán Árvai Award (2009), Silver Cross of Merit of the Hungarian Republic (2009), Balázs Béla Award (2021), Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit (2024).
